Memories of my home
2. Painting my room
3. My sister never has lived there, she was old enough to live on her own.
4. Living with just my mom
5. Summertime
The memory I recall the most about my home is moving in about two years ago. My mom, my sister, and I have had previous homes, but they never felt like home since they were always temporary because my rented out houses and apartments. This is my mom's first house she is buying completely on her own. I remember how happy she was and how independent she felt. Since we always rented out houses and apartments I was never able to paint my room. I was so excited to pick out my own paint and decorate my room with my individual style. Finallly, I lived in a house that felt like home.

Keep Knoxville beautiful!
Observations
- The background is green.
- The letters are bold.
- The letters are white.
- All letters are capitalized, but the word on.
- They printed the words at a angle.
- They chose k-town not Knoxville.
- It says,"Don't Throw Down on K-town."
- The website is printed at the bottom.
- There is a dash before and after the word on.
Inferences
- They chose a green background to represent a clean ground for Knoxville.
- To be more eye catching, they chose a contrasting color for the letters, white.
- They also wanted to be noticeable by capitalizing and bolding all words except for the word on.
- They probably chose to leave the word on lowercase since it is the least significant word of the statement.
- They decided on k-town instead of Knoxville to go with the flow of the saying.
- They printed all of the words at an angle except for k-town to address the main audience, Knoxville.
- They had their website printed at the bottom to give credibility and for their attended audience to have access to more information.
This bumper sticker caught my eye because of the bold, angled letters printed on the grassy colored green background. The purpose of the bumper sticker is to alter the opinions of those who choose to litter, which explains the publisher's reasoning to choose the color green. The publishers also chose to capitalize every letter except for o and n to represent the more significant words of the statement which is," Don't throw down k-town." I recognized that the word K-town is not angled probably because this is a affecting way to address the attended audience, residents of Knoxville. Finally, they decided to print their website at the bottom of the page to have a logical appeal. People then can go to their website and see the statistics on those who litter in Knoxville. From just this pymgy bumper sticker on a person's vehicle, someone would think twice about littering. Overall, it is affective.

Video 1 Observations
- There is a man speaking in a serious tone.
- There is oil or butter sizzling in the frying pan at the first of the video.
- Than a egg is fried.
- Egg is cooked in a dark, older skillet.
- Video is filmed where the only image you can see is the frying of the egg.
- 11 seconds
- At end, man speaks, "Any questions?"
Video 2 Observations
- Can see individual speaking, Rachel Lee Cook, in video.
- Egg is smashed into counter.
- A close up on the gooey strings of egg dripping down the skillet she smashed the egg with.
- Smashes clock, dinner plates, and drinking glass with same skillet.
- She appears as an young adult or teenager.
- Mentions heroin in video.
- 30 seconds
- Rachel Cook uses sarcasm asking, "any questions?"
Video 1 Inferences
- The man's voice directs the video to a wide variety of audiences.
- The frying of an egg represents the frying of your brain if using drugs.
- You are focused on every detail of the egg being fried since it is the only image in sight, so you are concentrating on what could happen to your brain.
- You watch the egg being fried from beginning to end just in eleven seconds maybe to represent your brain will fry quick when using drugs.
- The only point it gets across is that your brain is fried if you use drugs.
Video 2 Inferences
- Rachel Lee Cook presents herself youthful directing the video to the young adult/teenage audience.
- The egg(your brain) is destroyed by the skillet(heroin) which shows the dangerous affects the drug has on you.
- She doesn't just smash the egg, she smashes the dinner plates, drinking glasses, and the clock trying to get the point across that the drug doesn't just affect users, but everyone who is associated with them.
- During this PSA, there is a close shot of the gooey yellow liquid that splurges down her hand which intensifies the visual affect of what happens to your brain when using drugs.
Both of these videos have a visual affect on the outcome when using drugs. These PSA's, filmed at least a decade apart, use the same metaphor, an egg representing your brain while a frying pan represents the drug. Both videos try to grasp the meaning that drugs will destroy the human brain. Even though they have similarities, these videos have multiple discrepancies. The first video has a man stating the meaning of the commercial, but the more recent commercial has the star Rachel Lee Cook speaking and acting in the video. This alternates the intended audience. The newer video portrays a less broadened audience than the older video because Rachel Lee Cook depicts an young adult or teenager, which in this case is the aimed audience. The recent video captures a deeper meaning because instead of focusing on one affect from drugs, it displays numerous affects. The newer video not only concentrates on what happens to your brain from abusing drugs, but the impacts it causes on others surrounded by you. This video is more extended showing additional details. For example, the Filmer zooms in on Rachel after she whacks the egg with the skillet showing off the aftermath of her actions. This helps one visualize and understand what drugs, specifically heroin, can cause to your brain. Overall, you can see in the two different time periods (each PSA representing a different time period) how society's views on drugs have modified. Obviously, people's addiction to drugs increased and addicts were taken more seriously. As you can see through the vast distinction from the first commercial to the updated commercial, drugs became a larger issue.
